Dr. Glenn E. Schweitzer was the first Executive Director of ISTC (1994-1995). Prior to becoming ISTC Executive Director, Dr. Schweitzer served as Intergovernmental Preparatory Committee chair in Moscow that worked from 1992 to 1994 to set the origanization's legal and operational frames.
On February 17th a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UCL Mullard Space Science Laboratory, the Institute of Physics of the Earth and the International Science and Technology Center on future collaboration in the TwinSat Project
The projects carried out under the ISTC framework brought together scientists from renowned international institutes in a global preventive effort to better understand the virus and raise preparedness capacity.

Representatives of ISTC Parties attended the meeting, including Canada, the European Union, Japan, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, United States of America, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic and Republic of Kyrgyz Republic participated as rotating CIS Board member.
The upgrades in infrastructure, equipment, quality control, and personnel qualification will allow an increase in the quality of the medical isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals used in a whole range of clinics and hospitals in Russia.
"In recent years, domestic manufacturers of radiopharmaceuticals, medical radioisotopes, nuclear medicine technology developers have received real help only from the International Science and Technology Center (report at a seminar by N.V. Savinova) for about $ 16 million."
The goal of the meeting is to bring together international leaders and policy makers, along with leading scientists to explore the key issues and challenges to international security.
Since 1995, when the first Armenian project was launched, ISTC has funded 163 science projects to a total value of 38.6 million USD.
