The Zambia Radiation Protection Authority Conducts a Training Course in Lusaka on Safe Transportation of Uranium Ore and Radioactive Sources
In line with the Implementation Plan of the EU-funded Project MC 5.01 15B “Support to Southern African States in Nuclear Safety and Safeguards”, the Zambia Radiation Protection Authority (RPA) in collaboration with ISTC hosted a training course on nuclear transportation safety
On 17 July, Mr. Eddie Maier, Deputy Head of Unit, EC DEVCO, who visited Kazakhstan as the representative of the European Union to 68 session of the ISTC Governing Board, took part also in a Round Table.
On17July 2019 Mr. Eddie Maier Deputy Head of Unit B/5 Stability, Security, Development and Nuclear Safety, Head of Sector CBRN, EC DEVCO, represented the EU at the 68th Governing Board Meeting of the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) that took place in Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan.
Based on their Memorandum of Cooperation, the International Science and Technology Center and Narikbayev KAZGUU University in Nur Sultan are engaged in joint actions in line with ISTC Targeted Initiative on ‘Export Controls of Dual-Use Materials and Technologies in Central Asia’ funded by the European Commission.
The ISTC jointly with STCU prepare the next event for members of relevant research communities under the ISTC/STCU - implemented EU-funded Targeted Initiative on CBRN Export Control on Dual Use Materials and Technologies in Central Asia, covering the following countries: Armenia, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
