Anticonvulsant and psychotropic activity of amino acid derivatives of hydantoins and their lithium derivatives with combined antioxidant and thrombolytic activity as promising new generation drugs.

Project Status: 3 Approved without Funding
Duration in months: 36 months

Objective

Implementation the hydantoin synthesis of amino acids, DL-?-phenyl-?-alanine, DL-tryptophan.
Obtaining the Li derivatives of the hydantoins mentioned above, in which molecules the lithium cation is located in the third position of the hydantoin ring.
Obtaining p-isopropoxybenzoyl derivatives of said hydantoins, in which molecules of p-iso- propoxy benzoyl group is located in the 3-d position of hydantoins and lithium cation with nitrogen atom in the 1-st position of hydantoin ring.
Research of anticonvulsant, psychotropic (including antimanic, anti-monoamine, oxidase action) antioxidant, and thrombolytic activities of the newly synthesized compounds.
Investigation of the effect of compounds on oxidative stress
Histological studies of the newly synthesized compounds.
Combining the above chemical, physicochemical and pharmacological studies, our main objective is to prepare the presentation of the new psychotropic low-toxic substance with a wide range of activities for the use in medical practice..
