The Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, Office of Export Control Cooperation (ISN/ECC) oversees the U.S. government’s Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) Program. EXBS is designed to stem proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems, as well as irresponsible transfers of conventional weapons, by assisting countries with establishing effective strategic trade and border control systems that meet international standards. A core EXBS function is training foreign government officials in internationally accepted strategic trade control policies, processes, and methodologies, and providing them with the tools necessary to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
