Training of Trainers in basic COVID-19 protective measures and biorisk management

On October 31 - November 1, 2022,  2-day training sessions was held at the L. Sakvarelidze National Center for Disease Control and Public Health for customs control personnel and border police officers. The aim of the training was to improve the knowledge of the implementation of basic protective measures against COVID-19 and the biorisk management for customs, law enforcement and security officers.

By this event the training activities, which had been lasted from  September 12 to November 1, 2022, was completed and 160 customs control and police officers of the border checkpoints of 8 regions of Georgia were trained. The training organization/arrangement was carried out by L.  Sakvarelidze National Center for Disease Control and Public Health with the financial assistance of the European Union’s CBRN Risk Mitigation Centers of Excellence Initiative (EU CBRN CoE) and the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) Project 53 “Training of Law enforcement, emergency response, border guard and customs control officers in basic COVID-19 protective measures in Georgia”. The training materials provided by the international organization Thin Blue Line were used.

The mobilization of the training contingent was carried out with the support of the National Focal Point of the State Security Service’s CBRN Risk Mitigation Centers of Experience Initiative and with the technical support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Revenue Service of Georgia.
