New Science & Technology in the Prevention of Biological Threats - Targeted Initiative Approved by ISTC Governing Board
ISTC is launching a new targeted initiative on Science & Technology in the Prevention of Biological Threats. This initiative was approved at the ISTC Governing Board held in Minsk on July 9, 2009. Its' purpose is to develop and create synergy between existing ISTC-supported projects while allowing for expansion of ISTC activities in the area of preventing biological threats. Currently the proposed main foci include the development of new techniques and technologies for the rapid detection of microorganisms of significant concern, development of projects in the area of food security and support of projects assisting in the development of adequate emergency planning and first response.
