New Japan Ambassador to Georgia Visits ISTC Branch Office
April 13, 2010 – The newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to Georgia, Masayoshi Kamohara, visited ISTC Georgian Branch Office for the first time and got acquainted with R&D projects carried out by the Center. The Japan Embassy opened in Georgia one year ago and this exploratory meeting aims to establish new Science & Technology partnerships in the country.
The Head of the Branch Office, Irina Khomeriki, briefed the Ambassador on ISTC activities and projects funded by Japan. Additionally, two scientific reports were presented by ISTC Georgian Scientists in the sphere of Biotechnology and Medicine. The Japanese delegation expressed great interest in furthering S&T collaboration with ISTC and these opportunities will be reported to their Government.
