National Training Workshop of Kazakhstan on 26-27 October 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan - Introduction to the public health management of chemical incident response and the role of Poisons Information Centres in mass gathering events

Kazakhstan chemical safety experts, who attended the EU CBRN CoE Project 87 “Preparedness and Response for Mass Gatherings and other Health Threats in Central Asia” (PRECA) Train the Trainer Workshop in April 2022 in Tashkent, have organized their own chemical incidents response training workshop for specialists of the Department of Emergency Situations of Almaty, ambulance teams, rescue services of Almaty, and city toxicologists.

The training was led by specialists from Kazakhstan and was mentored by Ms. Raquel Duarte-Davidson, chemical safety expert of PRECA project.

The training workshop was attended by observers (RWG members) of the PRECA partner-countries and Mr. Talan Parnell, UK National Poisons Information Service expert.

The purpose of the training is to improve knowledge of the trainees on chemical incidents response, risks assessment, poisons information centers, risk management and communication.
