On 25 January 2022, ISTC Executive Director David Cleave received two interns    that are conducting practical work at the organization completing their academic     studies: Gulzhan Bayakhmetova, graduating from the Institute of Diplomacy,     Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of     Kazakhstan; and Konstantin Baikov, last year student at the Faculty of     International Relations, Eurasian National University L.N. Gumilev. Their     information gathering activities at ISTC, supervised by Dr. Kamen Velichkov, SPM   and Diplomatic Advisor, are focused on the topics: Kazakhstan’s relations with   international organizations and on technological transfers as form of       interdependency among international actors, respectively.

  The two students come in the steps of several other pals of theirs that have   conducted internships at ISTC in the last three years and have benefitted from     that  in their studies and work. ISTC attributes special attention to spreading among the young generation of professionals the knowledge of the importance of international cooperation in science and research, as means of sharing scientific achievements as well as of strengthening international security and cooperative interaction.
