ISTC supports new facility for business training and commercialization activities for scientists in Tajikistan
On July 25, 2007, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between ISTC and the Academy of Science of Tajikistan on creating a Training and Resource Center for former weapons scientists in Tajikistan. The Memorandum was signed by ISTC Executive Director, Norbert Jousten, and the President of the Academy of Science of Tajikistan, Mamadsho Ilolov.
The Resource Center will provide a modern, technology-equipped facility in Dushanbe for Tajik scientists to participate in ISTC’s business training courses, conduct scientific and business meetings, and pursue long-term sustainability through peaceful civilian work. The Resource Center and its activities will be funded by ISTC’s Competency Building Program. The Center’s opening is planned for spring 2008.
