ISTC Supports International Conference on Advanced Materials and Technologies Dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the Ilia Vekua Sukhumi Institute of Physics and Technology

The International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) was pleased to support the International Conference on Advanced Materials and Technologies (ICAMT 2025), held in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 15 to 17 October 2025. Organized by the Ilia Vekua Sukhumi Institute of Physics and Technology, the event held special significance as it marked the 80th anniversary of the Institute.

The conference brought together leading scientists, researchers, and experts from Armenia, Georgia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, the Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine, the United States, Uzbekistan, and other countries to discuss recent developments and emerging trends in advanced materials and technologies.

The scientific program covered a wide range of areas, including advanced semiconducting materials, photoelectric and thermoelectric devices, nanomaterials, ionizing radiation detectors, cryogenic and superconducting materials, polymer and metal-ceramic composites, biomedical applications of multifunctional materials, and nuclear security and safety.

ISTC was represented at the conference by Ms. Samal Assainova, Senior Program Manager, who conveyed congratulations on behalf of the organization and reaffirmed ISTC’s commitment to supporting scientific collaboration and innovation in Georgia.

Advanced materials research is one of the most dynamic and crucial fields globally, driving progress in energy efficiency, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and high-technology industries. Recognizing its strategic importance, ISTC is expanding its areas of focus and has recently launched new initiative in this field.

During the conference, Ms. Assainova met with scientists and partner institutions to discuss potential collaborations. The event also facilitated valuable professional connections and scientific exchanges that will further strengthen regional cooperation.

ISTC extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Ekaterina Sanaia, Director of the Ilia Vekua Sukhumi Institute of Physics and Technology, for her leadership and hospitality, and wishes continued scientific excellence and success to Dr. Sanaia and her dedicated team.

ISTC already implements several ongoing projects with the Ilia Vekua Sukhumi Institute of Physics and Technology and looks forward to building on this successful partnership through new joint activities and research initiatives.
