ISTC Promote Strategic Trade Control Education in Kazakhstan
The International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) and the Central Asian Institute for Development Studies (CAIDS) signed the two-year framework agreement on Strategic Trade Control Implementation in Kazakhstan. Under the terms of the document, it is expected to develop and implement the research and education programs on STC in collaboration with the Economics and Entrepreneurship department at the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) in Nur-Sultan.
Together with foreign and local partners CAIDS will provide ENU with necessary academic capacity to start and maintain the master’s degree program in International Business and Strategic Trade Control. There will be a series of events in preparatory phase that comprises workshops and seminars to attract the attention of local experts and professionals who intersect with the Strategic Trade Control. Eventually, it should be a multi-disciplinary post-graduate education program concerning economic, social, political, legislative, and other aspects of STC implementation adapted to Kazakhstan’s condition.
The project also fucuses on the research perspectives. It should accelerate collaboration of the universities and the research teams from Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries aiming to build a local research network specialized in STC. These initiatives are supposed to create new long-run opportunities for post-graduate education at ENU.
