ISTC Participates in a Panel of the Joint INMM-ESARDA Annual Meeting
In recent years ISTC took part in several events, convened by ESARDA, the association of European organizations formed to advance and harmonize research and development in the area of nuclear safeguards. This year for the first time ESARDA carried out its Annual Meeting jointly with the US-based Institute for Nuclear Materials Management, a nonprofit technical organization with worldwide membership of engineers, scientists, and educators that promotes leading research for managing nuclear materials. The theme for the joint meeting that took place online 23-26 August and 30 August to 1 September, was: Advancing Together: Innovation and Resilience in Nuclear Materials Management.
ISTC was invited by INMM Technical Divisions and ESARDA Working Group leaders to participate in one of the panels. The intent of the panel was to have each of the panelists to describe his/her organization , the role it plays in the Nuclear Materials Management industry and how the individual organization helps to further nuclear materials management goals internationally.
This panel explored how collaborative leaders had connected across disciplines, organizations, stakeholders and borders to achieve their missions in innovative ways, featuring ABACC, AFCONE, CTBTO, ENEN and ISTC. The panelists were: Rob Floyd, CTBTO; Sonya Vekstein, ISTC; Sonia Moreno, ABACC; Messaoud Baaliouamer, AFCONE; and Gabriel Pavel, ENEN. They shared lessons and insights drawn from overcoming challenges during the pandemic.
