ISTC Mobility and Project Specific Training Program: trip to Ireland

As part of the ISTC Mobility and Project Specific Training Program, ISTC sponsored Olga Belyaeva’s participation at the recent joint conference of the International Symposium on Environment and Health (ISEH), the International Conference on Environmental Pollution and Health (ICEPH) and the International Symposium on Environmental Geochemistry (ISEG) in Galway, Ireland on August 11 -18. Ms. Belyaeva is the Head of the Radioecology Department at the Center for Ecological Noosphere Studies (CENS) at Armenia’s National Academy of Sciences. The joint conference, originally planned for 2020; was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Conference organizers were the University of Galway, Jinan University and The Geographical Society of China.

Ms. Belyaeva’s participation focused on radon and low-level ionizing radiations from the environment, including sources, patterns, and risk assessment and featured her verbal presentation titled, “Environmental Radiation Studies in an Urban Environment: Case Study of Yerevan, Armenia”.
