The ISTC Executive Director David Cleave  along with ISTC Deputy Executive Director visited Dushanbe, Tajikistan to renew Government acquaintances, delayed due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions, and present compliments to ISTC's Stakeholders and to inform them of ISTC activities both current and also future ISTC plans and to also listen to issues relating to funding and both Tajikistan's scientific priorities as well as regional priorities, interests and problems and areas for cooperation and collaboration. The meeting was hosted by Professor, Academician Rahimi, President of the National Academy of Science of Tajikistan, and who is also the ISTC Governing Board Representative for Tajikistan, and who had invited Mr. Bilolzoda F.I.-Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Qayum S.M.- the First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Solehzoda A.A. –Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Valizoda F.P. - Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Bandaev I.S. – Director of the State Institution “Republican Educational And Clinical center of Family Medicine” of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Amonzoda I.T. –Rector of the Technological University of Tajikistan and Mr. Ismolzoda M.-Director of State Institution National Center for Patents and information of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The meeting discussions were both constructive and informative and leave the basis for further discussions and cooperation, in areas such as seismic, water management, export control, SDG's climate change and future energy.

In addition ISTC's ED & DED met with representative of the Regional Science Committee, Farida Tishkova- Doctor of Biology, Professor, Head of Virology Laboratory, Research Institute of Preventive Medicine of the Republic of Tajikistan and Firuza Nasyrova - Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Biosafety Laboratory of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Deputy Chairman of the Council on Bioethics under the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Vice-President of the Asian Association for Bioethics;  to discuss regional bio safety bio security issues and plans for a regional project proposal on the issue.
