ISTC had a meeting with KBTU in Almaty, Kazakhstan

On March 19, 2025, Dana Yessenzhanova visited Almaty, representing the International Science and Technology Center. She attended the Women’s Leadership in Kazakhstan forum, organized by the British Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan and hosted by the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU). The keynote speakers included Gabdullin Maratbek, Rector of KBTU, Kathy Leach, British Ambassador to Kazakhstan, and Timothy Owen, Chairman of the Board of the British Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan. The forum gathered leading experts from business, academia, and government to discuss the challenges, opportunities, and innovations in women’s leadership across different industries.

Later Ms. Yessenzhanova had a meeting with representatives from KBTU’s SDG Projects Department. During the meeting, the KBTU team presented several innovative projects, including:

- A disaster-prevention 3D printer

- Perovskite silicon (Si) technology

- Biodegradable solutions

- Developments in the green hydrogen sector

Dana highlighted the similarities between KBTU and ISTC projects in disaster prevention and space data analysis and provided KBTU representatives with an overview of the ISTC research proposal submission process during their meeting.
