ISTC Executive Director David Cleave presented congratulatory remarks at the 70th Anniversary event of The Kyrgyz Republic’s National Academy of Sciences in Bishkek and presented the Academy President with a 70th Anniversary Plaque on behalf of ISTC. In response the ISTC Executive Director was awarded a medal of appreciation by the Academy. Dinara Kerimbayeva, Head of ISTC Kyrgyzstan branch was also awarded a medal. The Grand Meeting, a celebration of Kyrgyz science, was held on October 29 at the National History Museum in Bishkek.

Mr. Cleave’s medal was in recognition of the ISTC’s cooperation with the Academy as a partner organization and his appearance was part of an impressive list of speakers that included the Academy’s President, Kanat Abdrakhmatov (who is also the ISTC Governing Board Member representing Kyrgyzstan), and Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov, as well as other speakers from the international science community. The event also included signing a Cooperation Agreement with the Kazakhstan National Academy of Science. A gala dinner concluded the festivities.
