"European Union Sanctions and Enhancing Cooperation to Strengthen Sanction Effectiveness" seminar held in January in Abu Dhabi (UAE). Representatives from the public sector and other experts received thorough training on important subjects such as the EU sanctions framework, financial restrictions, trade and dual-use restrictions, and as well as measures related to energy, transportation logistics, and trade flows.

 To overcome obstacles, handle the complexity of the matter, and guarantee openness and compliance, both parties, European Commission and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, decided to keep collaborating on common goals in the sanction field, placing a strong emphasis on open communication and teamwork.

The meeting was organised by the European Commission, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the EU Delegation in the UAE and was administered by the International Science and Technology Center.
