ISTC Board Nominates New SAC Chairman
The ISTC Governing Board appointed a new Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Chairperson, Dr. Masanori Araki, from Japan Party.
Dr. Araki is Principal Scientist at the Fusion Research and Development Directorate of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA).
He took an active part in the various international programs and activities such as the ITER project. He also collaborated closely with EURATOM and the International Fusion Energy Research Center.
The Scientific Advisory Committee is composed of scientists from Canada, the EU, Russia, Japan and the US, who assess project proposals and advise the ISTC Governing Board on projects worth funding. The committee meets twice a year before the Governing Board meetings.
