PRECA Regional Working Groups (RWG) met in Almaty on 26-28 October 2022 to discuss current project activities and future plans.

PRECA has 5 RWGs: Food safety, Water safety, Chemical safety and poisons information centers, C3 (command, control and communication) and Exercises and Testing.

Each RWG has a representative from each project’s partner-country – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

This meeting in Almaty is the second face-to face meeting of the RWGs. The first meeting was held in Tashkent in April of 2022.

During the meeting in Almaty RWG members worked on the following project documents:

- Project road map/future plans, which include national training events in each country under each Work Package (Food safety, Water safety, Chemical safety, C3) and Regional Exercise Event, which is planned for 2024.

- Regional guidance on safety of mass gathering events.

- Equipment and materials lists from each partner-country, which will be procured by ISTC under PRECA project.

All of these activities will strengthen preparedness and response of partner-countries for mass gathering events.

Apart from face-to-face meetings of RWGs, they meet online each month to discuss project progress.
