Awareness- raising cartoon series. Armenian translation
The London Metropolitan University in the UK has initiated creating an awareness-raising cartoon series in multiple languages. The series titled “Strengthening the Web of Prevention against Chemical and Biological Weapons” features five two-page cartoons, whereby each cartoon examines a specific concept related to biological (and chemical) security. Concepts covered in the series include prevention of biological weapons; codes of conduct; education and awareness-raising; biological security culture; and one health security. It is a new and innovative method to talk about complex topics in a simple way and is an effective way of raising awareness in target audiences.
The cartoon series has been translated into 12 different languages, including the six official UN languages: Arabic, Armenian, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Urdu, which makes it accessible to a wider audience. The cartoons series is open-source and available in different languages via the London Metropolitan University Repository.
The Armenian version of the cartoons will be used during the implementation of the project in responsible science in Armenia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan under the ISTC Targeted Initiative CBRN Export Control on Dual-Use Materials and Intangible Technologies in Central Asia, funded by the EU.
