On April 8, 2025, ISTC Executive Director Karina Anguelieva met with the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek. 

The meeting gave a chance for both sides to get to know one another and talk about possible areas of cooperation, such as internationalisation, increase research intensity, cooperation in safety and security based on research and technology enhancement. Mr. Nurbek stressed that ISTC is a significant organization, and he would like to have joint projects, including those focused on AI and new technologies. 

At the first formal meeting between the Ministry and ISTC's new senior management, there were also present from ISTC - Deputy Executive Director Rashitdin Kokenov, Project Officer Dana Yessenzhanova and PR Officer Dinara Serikova. From the Ministry side - Chairman of the Science Committee of the Ministry Galymzhan Zhankuatov and Deputy Director of the Science Fund of Kazakhstan Aliya Sembayeva. Both parties reaffirmed their ambition to continue collaboration in possible areas of interest for both sides.
