The Ambassador of Oman visits ISTC Secretariat
On 4 February 2019 H.E. Dr. Said ben Muhammed Al Barami visited the ISTC Main Office to discuss with ISCT Executive Director David Cleave matters pertaining to cooperation with ISTC on bilateral and regional basis, within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The meeting took place on invitation by the ISTC Executive Director as a continuation of the dialogue with the Embassy on topics of mutual interest. The ambassador received a debrief on the ISTC transition and new projects in the Middle East, as well as on the recent working visit of the ISTC Senior Management to Kuwait and the UAE. The organization of the upcoming Table Top exercise on radiation emergency preparedness AZM I for several Arab countries came into scrutiny. It will build on the experience from a similar exercise, Sunkar, for Central Asia, organized by ISTC in July 2017. The potential interest of the Oman Council for Research and Science for collaboration with ISTC was noted, as well as the possibilities arising from the activities of the Crises Management Center in Muscat.
The Ambassador thanked for the introductory visit to ISTC Secretariat and confirmed the support of the Embassy for the establishment of cooperation with ISTC on bilateral and on regional basis.
