ISTC Workshop in Aeronautics Moscow, 4 March 2008

The Workshop, hosted by the ISTC in Moscow on 4 March, provided an international forum for the presentation and discussion of opportunities to cooperate with Russia in research, designing and technology development.

Major players in the aeronautical industry were present, such as main aircraft (EADS/AIRBUS, BOEING, UAC) and engines (SAFRAN/SNECMA, ROLLS-ROYCE, P&W RUS) manufacturers, leading research centers (ONERA, TsAGI, CIAM, GosNIIAS, FRI, SibNIIA, NIISU), representatives of international funding institutes (RFFI, ISTC, EU FP7: AeroPortal SCRATCH), as well as universities (MAI, MPhTI FALT).

Foreign and Russian parties were represented by top/mid level managers and leading scientists.
Presentations of Russian research centers have shown that there is in Russia not only intellectual, but also financial basis to develop risk sharing programs.

Western aeronautical industry showed particular interest in the development of cooperation and partnerships through ISTC or with its support. Participants paid special attention to IPR issues, risk sharing, standardization & harmonization of certification.
