Cooperation of the International Science and Technology Center with the Nazarbayev University Research and Innovation System (NURIS) on Astana EXPO-2017 “Future Energy”
On April 6th the International Science and Technology Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding that established the formal working relationship with Nazarbayev University Research and Innovation System (NURIS) for support to Astana EXPO-2017 “Future Energy” in the area of content development and international expert exchange. The Memorandum formalizes ISTC’s working relationship with Nazarbayev University on EXPO content development that began in 2015 and that was confirmed by the ISTC Parties at a dedicated meeting conducted at the behest of the European Commission Directorate-General for Science in Brussels, Belgium on March 3, 2016.
Nazarbayev University has been commissioned by JSC “National Company “Astana EXPO-2017” to serve as a principal contractor providing science content and expertise through targeted events before and during the EXPO.
The Memorandum with ISTC establishes the working basis for the ISTC and its Parties to tap into the broad technical base of the international scientific community in their respective countries in development of EXPO-related content most specifically through: the eBPa (Energy Best Practices Area – best practices project competition), at dedicated EXPO Forum science events in advance of EXPO, and through the participation of expert speakers and panelists at the EXPO in 2017.
ISTC looks forward to fruitful cooperation with Nazarbayev University that will allow development of robust and satisfying content within the Astana EXPO that meets the needs of Kazakhstan and is of scientific merit.
