On September 18, 2024 at the invitation of the General Director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP) Sayabek Sakhiyev, ISTC Executive Director David Cleave and Deputy Executive Director Rashitdin Kokenov visited the Astana Branch of INP with a technical tour of the DC-60 heavy ion accelerator and the research work being carried out by INP's scientists in their laboratories.

ISTC has had a long and close relationship with INP over many years with many funded projects having been implemented (20 projects for amount of 4,5 mln USD), mainly in Almaty where their main office and Institute is based. INP has many achievements in the field of fundamental and applied nuclear physics, high and ultra-high energy physics, solid state physics, radiation material science, nuclear energy, radiation ecology, nuclear-physical methods of analysis and applications of nuclear and radiation technologies in medicine, industry and agriculture.

Fruitful discussions regarding current and future cooperation and the strengthening of collaboration and support for INP's activities took place and ISTC will look to continue their support of INP going forward.
