The ISTC Summer School organised together with other organisations was successfully concluded on 30 September 2011 in Geneva at CERN.
The ISTC-CERN-JINR Summer School on High Energy Physics and Accelerator Physics is targeted at postgraduate and PhD students from CIS countries and Georgia.
The purpose of the workshop is to expand on the previously established relationship between NIAID and research institutions from the Former Soviet Union countries to identify and discuss collaboration initiatives in the areas of bioinformatics, computational biology, medical and clinical informatics as related to allergy and infectious diseases.
Twenty researchers and industry experts from Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kirgisia, Ukraine, USA and Canada took part in the event. They discussed means to stimulate the development and production of innovative drugs in CIS.
ISTC, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Russia), the European Organization for Nuclear Research (Switzerland) and the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (Bulgaria) organize the XXIII International Symposium on Nuclear Electronics and Computing (NEC'2011).
Representatives of Boeing Corp. positively assessed the results of ISTC project G-1600 and the prototype that was built by the Georgian team of scientists (see picture). Participants agreed that further research has to be done on the subject.
