An annual International Conference of the Center for Life Sciences of Nazarbayev University took place on May 13-14 in Astana, Kazakhstan. ISTC was involved in the conference as a co-organizer with financial support of the Japanese Party.
On 25 February 2015 a Scientific Strategy Meeting was organized by the EU funding party and the ISTC to start the discussion on future funding priorities for the renewed ISTC
The workshop was co-held by the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute of Russia, the National Polar Research Institute (NIPR) of Japan, and the ISTC. The Japan Consortium for Arctic Environmental Research also contributed to the event. 14 Russian and 53 Japanese experts, including researchers and scientific secretariats, attended the Workshop.
The Workshop was co-sponsored by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and the Helmholtz-Centre Potsdam - GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences
The Workshop brought together scientists actively working in the related fields providing good opportunities to discuss the actual problems and the latest developments in this rapidly developing area of research
ISTC together with the Science and Technology Center of Ukraine (STCU) underneath the joint Fukushima Initiative conducted a Technical Review Committee meeting on the “Environmental Assessment for Long Term Monitoring and Remediation in and around Fukushima” from April 14-17, 2014 in Japan with the support and patronage of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT) alongside the European Union and United States Department of Energy.
The Scientific Advisory Committee of the ISTC organised the Seminar “ENERGY SECURITY, HOW TO FURTHER THE TECHNOLOGY”.The two-day event was focused on how technology could contribute to the fulfillment of the general objective of energy security, more particularly in ISTC countries, be they net energy producers or consumers.
The Armenian Branch Office of ISTC celebrated the 15 year anniversary of its foundation – with the release of an informational brochure highlighting ISTC’s work in the country over the past 18 years. This publication presents a summary of ISTC’s contributions to Armenia, an overview of the results obtained by leading Armenian institutions in the framework of ISTC projects, as well as providing an interesting historical photo gallery.
The purpose of the Autumn School was to address studies of basic science problems associated with laser-plasma interactions, as well as industrial applications and applications to medical diagnostics and hadron therapy
The Seminar was attended by scientists and experts from the US, European Union, Canada, Japan, CIS and Georgia.
