On April 6th the International Science and Technology Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding that established the formal working relationship with Nazarbayev University Research and Innovation System (NURIS) for support to Astana EXPO-2017 “Future Energy”
Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) is the largest conference focused on innovative achievements on annual basis in treating liver diseases. In 2016 APASL was held on February 20-24 in Tokyo, Japan. At the conference Tajik medical expert from Institute of Gastroenterology of the Ministry of Health presented a unique study on interlink of Hepatitis E virus to HIV infection. The participation of Tajik expert was supported by ISTC Travel Grants.
The workshop was dedicated to titanium materials and their manufacturing technologies. It was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of Korea, the Korean Ministry of Technology, ICT and Future Planning, and the ISTC.
The Workshop was organized by ISTC jointly with EurasTech Corp. on November 3, 2015.
The final Expert Committee meeting to review technical conclusions of the Fukushima Initiative projects, which were jointly implemented by the ISTC and STCU over the course of the past two years, was held in Tokyo, Japan on November 5-6, 2015.
The Workshop was sponsored by USGS, ISTC, UNESCO and Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary. More than 55 experts from US, Netherlands, Morocco, France, Afghanistan and CIS countries attended the Workshop and shared their experiences.
The main purpose of the Workshop was to discuss trends and problems in infectious diseases control in Europe and CIS countries.
Kyrgyz is a great home to herbs and flora. More than 4000 species flourish on high mountains at various seasons. Some of them have been known by its potential medical use. Despite of high scientific interest to these plants, they have been insufficiently studied so far. Kyrgyz researchers recently had intensive talks with Japanese pharmaceutical scientists for collaborative study how to utilize this gift from the nature, by the support of Japanese supplementary budget of ISTC.
ISTC has introduced Kyrgyz remediation technologies for polluted environment at the Radioactive Decontamination & Radioactive Waste Disposal International Exhibition (RADIEX) and the experts meetings in Japan in July 2015
The workshop brought together Central Asia regional scientists and policy makers with U.S. experts in botany, microbiology, ecology, food security, zoonotics and biomedical fields to discuss the needs of diverse stakeholders in using their rich natural resources in a sustainable manner.
