ISTC Deepens its Commercialization and Business Cooperation with STCU
On October 15-18, 2007, ISTC co-sponsored a Conference on Commercializing Science together with its sister center, the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU).
The conference took place at the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences in Baku, Azerbaijan, and was attended by more that 120 former weapons scientists, potential Partners, Party representatives and commercialization experts. ISTC funded the travel and participation of beneficiaries from Russia and Georgia.
This high-profile conference represents one of several recent activities in which ISTC and STCU have collaborated to support the long-term sustainability of former Soviet WMD experts--which is a primary goal of both organizations. Further possible areas of cooperation between the two Centers are under development.
The International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) is an intergovernmental organization connecting scientists from Kazakhstan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Georgia with their peers and research organizations in the EU, Japan, Republic of Korea, Norway and the United States.
ISTC facilitates international science projects and assists the global scientific and business community to source and engage with CIS and Georgian institutes that develop or possess an excellence of scientific know-how.
