Project summaryThe present project's objective is working out technological and design documentation of installation (assembly) for radioactive reactor graphite conditioning method and its subsequent long term storage (burial) in protective containers in the point for radio-active waste burial.
During the execution of the project the conditioning technology for monolith production having satisfactory characteristics for long-duration storage will be developed. On the basis of technology the design solutions and design documentation for conditioning installation (assembly) and formation of manufacturing of packings will be worked out as well as manufacturing of non-standard equipment, mounting of installation (assembly) model, and experimental-industrial tests will be conducted.
The project scientific significance is in the fact that the technology of radioactive reactor graphite industrial processing will be worked out, ensuring its conversion in ecologically safe state and subsequent storage (burial). Now there is no elaborations similar to such level and completeness over the world.
The commercial significance of the project is universal nature and will be suitable for graphite processing of all energetic, industrial and research reactor with graphite moderator employed over the world. Its essential feature is the relative low price.
Technological and project-design documentation will be the subject of subsequent circulation.
The principle activities on the project will be carried out in production basis of SSRI "VNIPIET" and SD AA "VNIPIET" in Sosnovy Bor in Leningrad Region.
