Project summary

The Project aim. The goal of the project is making of the model of new device, generating electric energy as a result of getting lightning changes. The model will be the original or micro model of lightning electric generator which presents the mean of getting the renewed electric resources. The complex unity of one or several electric generator is thought ecologically clean electric station. It consists of such electric, mechanical and hydraulic parts that are characterized by environment polluting marks or industrial remains. The lightning electric generator doesn’t need the territory of special size as it is working in the process of vertical movement. (But if needed it can be made in horizontal position as well). It should also be mentioned the fact that its similarity doesn’t require the special arrangement of the place.

Current status.

The reasons causing lightning, its characterized charges and other features of different electric energy are studied by modern scientists. A single flash includes 1 000 000 000 volt, 20 000 ampere and 5000 kilowatt electric power, mentioned data are increased 3-times by maximal parameters. It is obvious that assimilation of this energy will bring profit to the sphere of energy.

The project’ influence on progress in this area. In contrast to other ecologically clean electric generators (for example, wind or sun electric stations) the lightning electric station has great potential of development. For example, wind and sun electric systems need quite great territories for generating electric power. One generator of wind electric station has windy wings of 115-120 meters diameter, and the sun electric battery generates so little power that in order to generate important quantity of electric power, the territory of several hectares are needed for installation of necessary batteries. The one-third territories of such area is enough for the lightning electric station to generate thousand times more electric power than above mentioned electric generators of renewed energy resources.

The participants’ expertise. Mentioned invention underwent the examination by the experts of patent physics and it is acknowledged as the creation that may be thought as lightning electric station. P 4935.

Expected results and their application. The implementation of this Project will be done model of new device, generating electric energy as a result of getting lightning changes. The model will be the original or micro model of lightning electric generator which presents the mean of getting the renewed electric resources. Its usage that presents ecologically clean electric station and as a work, it may become the first scientific production that will be added to the number of modern technologies of devices of renewed energy resources.

Meeting the ISTC goals and objectives. Since former “weapons” scientists took part in this Project implementation and because it is exceptionally peaceful the Project meets the ISTC goals. It is noteworthy that against the background of quite difficult problems of global warming, the greatest attention in Georgia is attached to the renewable energy resources – for instance: utilization of wind and solar energy, and the invention, introduced by us, is aimed to obtainment and utilization of lightning energy, which in substance is the ecologically clean power station. The regulations of international scientific technological centre aim at working out, certifying, financing and controlling of scientific projects. Due to this, the project directly corresponds to the purposes and interests of scientific centre.

Scope of activities. The following activities will be implemented under the Project:

  • designing edge
  • construction parts of edge;
  • Calculations about all electromagnetic, mechanical and hydraulic compositions;
  • Purchasing of electromagnets;
  • Making of special springs;
  • Setting up of hydraulic parts;
  • Purchasing of hydro-engine;
  • Purchasing of electric generator;
  • Setting up device, installation
  • results presentation to the international scientific community.

Role of Foreign Collaborators/Partners. The participation of foreign partners in presented project is especially important, as given device includes several such component that isn’t used in Georgian manufacture (for example, powerful electromagnets and strong springs). Due to this fact, within the limits of the project such foreign laboratories may participate that are able to make such details.

Technical approach and methodology. For perfection of the project and for creation of the device it is necessary to select the appropriate place. Calculations about technical composition of the device will be fulfilled according to the technical standards of the device.

There will be planned security technologies for the purpose of safe setting up from electric power and from other mechanical compositions as well.

The component parts of the device will be made in appropriate factories and laboratories.
