Project summary

Goals: We suggest using the biological control methods (restraining) in the natural landscapes and elimination in places of their artificial cultivation of narcotic plants. Different groups of invertebrate athropoda (insects and others) - phytophages and microorganisms serve as means of biological method. Study of possibility of cannabinoides' contents in plants reducing.

Problems delivered by us are wholly agreed with purposes of ISTC for supports of fundamental and applied studies and technical developments in pacific purposes, including the field of health and environment protection.

Scope of the work: Reconnaissance and examination of territory of narcotic plants' growing; field studies; laboratory experiments; approbation of results of experiments in nature; introduction into practice.

The Main methods of the work planned:


1. Monitoring of natural and artificial habitats of narcotic plants'.
2. Floristic, phytoparasitological, virological and microbiological studies of natural areas of narcotic plants’.
3. Experimental phytoparasitological, virological and microbiological studies in laboratory conditions.
4. Experimental testing of received results in natural conditions.

Expected results:

1. Evaluation of distribution, seasonal dynamic and regulatory role of fungous diseases of cannabis and ephedra in their natural habitats in Southeastern Kazakhstan; forming of a bank of wild strains (gene pool) of fhytotrophic micromycetes - agents of diseases of narcotic plants; identification or revealing of most virulent and possibly species-specific on the spectrum of pathogenic action on the cannabis and ephedra strains; development of biotechnological reglaments of laboratory obtaining of preparative forms on the base of the most active strains; working out of experimental groups of mycoherbicides on the base of selected strains-producers and determination of their biological efficiency against the cannabis and ephedra in laboratory and natural conditions in Southeastern Kazakhstan.

2. Revealing of phytophages insects species - for cannabis; study of biology of most perspective phytophages of cannabis and ephedra; determination of fitness of phytophages' using in the biological struggle with narcotic plants.

3. Study of possibility of changing of narcotic materials contents in plants.
