Project summary

On the basis of the preliminary analysis of railway telecommunication systems of some countries, especially of the countries of CIS, is was found out that updating of the existing systems by obsolete new systems is inexpedient. These systems contain a number of drawbacks as a result of which they cannot be included in a uniform operational railway network.

The aim of the project is to develop separate units of railway telecommunication system containing new kinds of informational-diagnostic devices, distinguished from prototypes by simplicity of design, high accuracy and reliability which can provide the increase of safety, reliability and speed of railway rolling stock.

The project foresees the following stages of research:


1. Comparative analysis of new ideologies of telecommunication systems and choosing a comprehensible means - the most suitable one for tasks the project aims at;
2. Creation of a technique and carrying out experimental researches for choosing the sensor corresponding to the tasks the project aims at;
3. Influence of various revolting factors on sensitivity of reaction of sensors and development of algorithm for their elimination;
4. Researching the ways of processing information signals and coding for connecting systems to a uniform operational railway network.

For achieving the aim of the project the following tasks should be solved:

1. Elaboration of algorithm of elimination of influence of errors on sensitivity of the sensor;

2. Elaboration of an intellectual sensor distinguished by high accuracy, sensitivity and reliability on reaction of wheel pairs;

3. Elaboration of mathematical model and creation of algorithms of blocks of data processing for calculation of wheel pairs, mobile units, determination of speed and recognition of mobile units of the railway rolling stock;

4. Creation of coded system in the block of data processing for connecting the elaborated separate units to a uniform operational system of a railway telecommunication network.

Results of solving these tasks will be expressed in creation of separate new units of telecommunication system of railway which, with high accuracy, reliability and simplicity of design, can provide:


- The account of axes and mobile units of a railway stock;
- Measurement of speed of a railway stock;
- Recognition of mobile units of a railway stock;
- Connection of the elaborated devices, both to local networks of separate sites, and to a uniform operational system of a railway telecommunication network.

The problem is urgent, as the future re-equipment of railway telecommunication systems belongs to devices elaborated in the project, especially for information services of railways all over the world. Some of the results of elaborations of project work can be applied to other branches where calculation of axes, determination of speed and recognition of mobile units of moving object are required.

The project work corresponds to the aims and tasks of ISTC.

In the framework of activity the opportunity of solving the tasks of project work are examined in detail.

The main role of participation of a foreign collaborator is carrying out joint research works.

The applied and technological researches will be carried out in the project work.

Some of the results of elaborations of project work can be applied to other branches where calculation of axes, determination of speed and recognition of mobile units of moving object are required.

The project work corresponds to the aims and tasks of ISTC.
