Project summary

Goal of the project: Development of disinfectant suspensions on the basis of silver and copper nanoparticles and methods of their application effective for the treatment of walls, working clothes and materials contacting with epidemic agents including tuberculosis, hepatitis, opportunistic infections accompanying HIV, as well as for the use in agriculture against phytopathogenic infections.

It is known that nanoparticles of metals exhibit pronounced biological activity, including bacteriostatic and bactericide effect that can be used for the control the pathogens of rots in agriculture, and against a wide range of infections of the 3-d and 4-th category of hazard. There are some examples of the study of bactericide effect of nano-particles for the strains E.coli, Legionella, Penicillium, Bac.cereus. Basing on the studies of these effects, we propose the application of silver and copper nano-particles as paint constituents to cover the walls. Such paints as PF115 BIO, MA 15 BIO, BD-BIO were assessed to bio-activity at the Institute of human ecology and hygiene of the environment as compared to the paints modified by chemical biocide – polyhexamethyleneguanidine. Positive results obtained show the prospects of the using nanoparticles to provide bactericide effect of these products. At the same time there are evident problems in medicine of the control epidemic infections, such as tuberculosis, hepatitis, mucoplasma. Concomitant infections (opportunistic infections) accompanying HIV, and also modern transformations of the infections, so-called “collective”, arising in closed collectives of people. Such infections often arise at the places of the forced keeping of people: prisons, investigating isolators, reception centers for homeless, children’s rooms in police, pre-school institutions: nursery schools, sports schools, etc. It is also urgent now to use disinfectants at the places of people’s work, when the accumulation of people in one room is more than 5, when using air conditioners resulting in the acquiring the disease of legionaries. For all the goals mentioned above we propose to use liquid suspension disinfectants for the treatment of walls, working clothes, materials with the aim to prevent the infestation with the pathogens of epidemic infections.

Such suspensions were not proposed before, moreover, their biological properties were not studied in the scale proposed. It is specifies the urgency of this project.

Besides, suspensions of nanoparticles are efficient for the suppression of phytopathogens, existing in the premises, intended for the storage of food products, warehouses, workshops of beer and alcoholic drinks production instead of using such substances as sulfur and chemical preparations.

With this aim we suppose to perform more up-to date methods for the production of nanoparticles distinguishing by the resistance and we suppose to use along with silver nanoparticles, the nanoparticles of copper and their compositions.
