Project summary

VILS JSC investigations brought out a phenomenon as follows. Under specific thermoelectric treatment of titanium its surface acquires photocatalytic properties which are being enhanced by ultraviolet radiation. The above effect intensifies decomposition of detrimental gases.

Our preliminary results demonstrate that several classes of peccant bacteria perish on such surfaces.

It was also found out that after the above treatment titanium surface acquires anti- adhesion properties similar to Teflon.
